Chromosome staining/banding/FISH
Multiple NORs observed on p arm (terminal position) of acrocentric pair 25, sporadically on q arm of metacentric pair 1, p arm of metacentric pair 2, q arm of submetacentric pair 18. C-bands present in centromeric region of most chromosome complement and associated with NORs. Double staining with CMA3 and DAPI demonstrated GC-rich centromeric heterochromatin of pairs 1, 3, 4, 6, 10, 14, 17, 23 and 27, besides the one that coincides with the Ag-NORs. C-band and NORs regions were negative DAPI.
